The job posting on UH site (thanks for the heads up on earlier thread) is for Sean Carney. He said he will miss being with the team but he wants to fully concentrate on his Elite Academy sports training, something he founded a few years ago and couldn't devote as much time as he wanted to while coaching. He said he loved working with the players and hoped he could do that again some day when he was more financially secure. Think it is a big loss. He's been key for the team landing some of the local recruits lately.

Appears Stauber will be up at Santa Clara next season. Heard about this last week, been working on confirming it. A good source has.
Interesting since there were three other setters on the 2012 Bronco roster, all underclassmen.
Anderson, a junior, with 827 assists, Heier, a sophomore, with 588
Sophomore Sliger played in 10 sets.

With the win, the 49ers handed the defending champions their first loss in two years of Sand Volleyball, and avenged a loss in the title game one season ago. The win also sealed the seventh team championship in Long Beach State's history. Men's volleyball has won one national championship and women's volleyball has won five.

It was the fourth chance this season for Long Beach State (19-3) to topple the Waves, but the 49ers came through in their biggest moment. The 49ers were also the beneficiaries of some misfortune to Pepperdine, as the Waves were forced to forfeit at flight No. 1 due to an injury to Jazmine Orozco.

Think what impressed me the most was UCI holding off three set points in Set 3, down 24-21, scoring five straight with BYU in a bad rotation. Anteaters win the block war 17-6 and did a great job on serve-receive.

Sander with 20 of BYU's 47 kills, not much help. Boyce got pretty predictable at the end.

UCI had a balanced attack with 11 kills from Hughes, Tillie and LaCavera.
