Hartong signs with Swiss team

June 13th, 2014

hartong stas

appreciate the heads-up on another thread.

She has signed with Swiss champion Volero Zurich.

She will wear No. 17, which was her number at UH as well as the number of her grandfather's ship during WWII.  Grandfather, Royal George Hartong, was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Ship he was on was the USS. Montgomery, No. 17.

Grandfather's dream was that she play for Hawaii, her father once told me. Grandfather died in January of 2011. Got to see her matches as a freshman on DVDs.
