Or is it Overtime? only caught part of it Tuesday.
Anyway, Tuesday's late addition on the radio was Gary D.'s show that had Wade discussing the season and the NCAA tourney.
Wade said he pretty much knew the agenda for the committee when they decided that the MIVA had the highest RPI of the 4 leagues at the start of the season. Of course we all know that is bogus but it was setting up how Loyola would ended up being in the final four.
He did point out that Pepperdine didn't help itself by playing no matches other than the MPSF schedule.
He said that there's a few proposals out there to might make things more fairer. He likes the idea of a point system that would award points on how a team wins, various points for a 3-0 win, winning 3-1 and 3-2 and even a point for losing 2-3.
some discussion on changing the MPSF schedule by it not being a true balanced schedule, now that UOP is gone. (People might remember when the league had two divisions with home and away within the division, one crossover match with the teams in the opposite division). and some thoughts on expand ing the MPSF tournament to more than eight teams. and that the MPSF teams need to travel and play more out of conference.
Talked a little bit about what the team had coming back, how Fey will play into the mix and expects him to have a great summer with the junior national team.
He said the Erskine (the carolina champion that made the final six) might be out for the 2016 Outrigger.
Wade stressed how much he wants local kids to stay home and player for UH.
Caller mentioned a lack of boys club teams, which kind of surprised me since there are a number of clubs besides Outrigger, such as Ku Ikahi, Kaulukoa … Wade said that Milan Zarkovic was interested in building a boys club program, probably through Asics.
I'm sure there are other things I missed. Perhaps someone else heard the show.
